Position Summary
The Part-Time Store Associate is an entry‑level position that works at Fed Ex Office retail stores. The associate is knowledgeable about Fed Ex Office’s retail and shipping products and will work primarily in these areas to consistently deliver a positive customer experience. The role requires consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. Additionally, the associate will operate and maintain equipment in the Self‑Service and Retail zones, move boxes, stock materials, and complete assigned tasks based on priority.
GeneralDuties And Responsibilities
People
- Follows instructions of supervisor and assists other team members in performing limited store functions.
- Understands and models the Purple Promise to make every Fed Ex experience outstanding.
Service
- Assembles parcels and prepares goods for shipping by wrapping items, inserting into containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels.
- Demonstrates consultative behaviors to understand each customer’s individualized need.
- Ensures all customer problems are resolved quickly and to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly retail store.
Profit
- Ensures confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages.
- Assists with processing financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal, including handling cash and making change.
- Cleans and stocks all printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance.
- Stays current on merchandising materials and displays all retail area products and signage properly.
- Takes preemptive action to prevent errors and waste.
- Follows Fed Ex Office SOPs and adheres to legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies.
Self-Management
- Performs multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Looks for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the store.
- Adheres to all Fed Ex Office standards as outlined in the Team Member Handbook.
- All other duties as needed or required of the position.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for the entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods.
- Ability to move and lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees consistently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members consistently.
- Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction consistently.
- Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment under substantial pressure consistently.
- Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods consistently.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision consistently.
- Ability to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours to support the business; regular attendance and/or reporting could include regular attendance at a physical location and/or maintaining established business hours depending on the role.
Pay Transparency:
This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. Actual starting pay will be determined by experience, market level, and other factors permitted by law. Employees may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The company offers health, vision, dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: $18.35 - $21.57/hr
