Inside Tire Service – Salt Lake City, UT
Mission
To address the tire needs of customers in a safe, approved manner using proper tools and techniques.
Responsibilities- Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size and ply.
- Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels.
- Dismount wheels from vehicles using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
- Mount wheels onto vehicles.
- Reassemble tires onto wheels.
- Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects.
- Locate and seal punctures.
- Perform lube, oil, filter, and tire services on passenger and light truck vehicles as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Maintain tools and related tire accessories.
- Maintain a clean shop to reflect the proper corporate image to the public.
- Protect company assets.
- Embrace Purcell’s culture of safety and perform all jobs in a safe manner.
- Ensure regular attendance in accordance with the assigned schedule.
- Perform all listed physical requirements.
- Complete other essential and non‑essential duties assigned by management.
Education
:
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
Job‑Specific Experience
: 1–2 years in tire service or related field.
Driver’s License
:
Required.
Certifications
:
Tire Industry Association CTS certification and vendor‑provided training.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s):
- Tire Industry – Essential knowledge of tire brands, designs, treads, safety procedures, and customer markets.
- Customer Service – Ability to assess customer needs, meet quality standards, and evaluate satisfaction.
- Mechanical – Understanding of automotive vehicles and tools for repair and maintenance.
- Communication – English language proficiency, active listening, and effective speaking and writing.
- Tools & Technology – Ability to select appropriate equipment and operate phone systems.
- Cognitive – Critical thinking, problem sensitivity, complex problem solving, deductive and inductive reasoning, and service orientation.
