$29.44 per hour

No experience or training required. The position begins with the POST Academy, which is paid with a full hourly wage and full benefits while you attend training. The academy is slated to start on June 8 2026, and you must be 19 years old by March 6 2026.

• Learn and apply essential communication skills for assisting the public and dealing with the prisoner population.
• Perform law‑enforcement duties outside and tactical responses inside.
• Use defensive tactics and de‑escalation techniques to keep yourself and colleagues safe.
• House prisoners, process new arrestees, and respond to emergency situations.
• Work with the mentally ill population and pursue opportunities for growth and advancement.

• U.S. citizen or legal authorization to work (at least five years of residence).
• At least 19 years old by the date of hire.
• Resident of the State of Utah at the time of hire.
• Valid Utah driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• No disqualifying criminal history.
• Pass the physical fitness (PT) test.
