This position is with Firstbase, a subsidiary of App Direct. About Firstbase:
Recently acquired by App Direct, the Firstbase team empowers the hardware lifecycle management and hardware purchase offering on the App Direct Marketplace. The team focuses on building interactions between App Direct and Firstbase while maintaining and growing Firstbase’s existing user base and product offerings.

• ITAD Receiving & Identification: Accurately receive and log mixed lots of retired IT assets (laptops, monitors, peripherals) upon arrival using proprietary WMS software. Identify and verify hardware configurations (processor type, RAM capacity, hard drive type) to ensure assets are cataloged correctly. Sort incoming material into Resale, Wholesale, Harvest, or Recycle workflows. Apply asset tags and scan serial numbers to maintain strict chain-of-custody for all customer devices.
• Cosmetic Grading & Testing: Perform visual inspections to determine cosmetic grade (Grade A, B, C,
  
  D) based on industry standards. Conduct functional testing on laptops and peripherals to verify features (keyboard, trackpad, ports, webcam) are working prior to stocking. Log detailed condition notes to assist remarketing with accurate pricing. Connect devices to wiping servers and monitor the data sanitization process to ensure drives are wiped according to NIST standards. Perform repair and physical refurbishment tasks including removing asset tags/stickers, detailed cleaning, and battery replacements.
• Inventory & Parts Harvesting: Track inventory levels of whole units and harvested components (RAM, SSDs, power adapters) in the WMS. Harvest functional parts from non-working units for repairs. Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to minimize discrepancies. Pick, pack, and ship orders for direct-to-consumer shipments and bulk palletized freight for wholesale buyers. Ensure used electronics are packed securely and shipping labels/manifests are generated with accurate tracking in the WMS.

• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in computer repair, with ITAD, electronics recycling, or reverse logistics experience.
• Hardware Knowledge: Ability to identify different IT hardware types and models.
• Grading Ability: Experience visually grading used electronics for resale (e.g., distinguishing between “Like New” and “Scratch & Dent”).
• Tech Savvy: Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Windows and Apple products, and diagnostic/data-erasure tools.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy logging serial numbers and assessing device condition.
• Physical: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods; able to lift, bend, and move equipment safely.

• 2+ years in a warehouse environment.
• Experience with data erasure software (e.g., Blancco, Bit Raser).
• Ability to troubleshoot minor hardware issues (reseating RAM, swapping drives).
• Forklift certification is a plus.
