The Department Area Supervisor assists the Store Manager in managing and controlling the operations of the store to ensure that company standards and expectations are consistently met; supervises areas assigned by the Store Manager and follows the dd’s DISCOUNTS philosophy and policies in researching to customers, Associates, and merchandising. Responsible for learning all phases of store operations.

• Responsible for all aspects of Store Operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Ensure that Company Standards and Expectations are met.
• Executes business plan to deliver desired sales and profit.
• Maintains good quality Customer Service.
• Assists in recruiting, training, and developing Associates.
• Drives shortage control programs to deliver desired shortage results.

• At least 2 years of management experience in a retail environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to train, coach, and develop Associates.
• Must have highly developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Must exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts.
• Must be able to move around all areas of the store.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

• Direct supervision of all non-exempt employees.

Full-time.

Up to $19.00 per hour.
