Building Engineer-Commercial

Part-Time, 30–35 hours per week

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility in days and hours

Pay: $32–$35 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to support the maintenance and operation of five commercial properties located within approximately a 20-mile radius north and south of Sandy, UT. This is a roving position, and candidates must be comfortable traveling between multiple locations as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial building maintenance experience and a solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.

• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on commercial buildings, building systems, and equipment.
• Inspect, monitor, and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, and other building systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of building systems and facility components, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, roofs, drains, and related equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, service calls, and emergency situations.
• Complete work orders, maintenance logs, inspections, and repair documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Support energy management initiatives to improve system efficiency and help minimize operating costs.
• Maintain building lighting systems, including replacing ballasts, bulbs, fixtures, and related components.
• Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors as needed.
• Assist the Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering with maintaining safe, clean, efficient, and well-maintained properties.
• Travel between assigned locations as needed to perform maintenance and repairs.

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial building maintenance experience.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and troubleshooting commercial building equipment.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond effectively to maintenance needs across multiple locations.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel between five assigned properties within approximately a 20-mile radius of Sandy, UT.

• EPA Universal Certification
• Refrigeration Certification
• Journeyman or Master Electrician License
• Boiler License
• Other relevant trade certifications
