The Staff Accountant works closely with the CFO, Accounting Director and team members by performing a variety of accounting and reporting tasks. This role includes but is not limited to: preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing transactions, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, reconciling accounts, preparing reports and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities of the Position- Recording and maintenance of general ledger and applicable spreadsheets
- Verification and matching of applicable figures and amounts
- Sorting and storage of accounting documentation
- Assistance with compilation of month-end and year-end financial reporting documents
- Responding to internal and external inquiries related to accounting/finance
- Inspect account payable invoices and purchase orders for completeness and accuracy
- Assist accounts payable clerk to ensure financial reporting accuracy through verification and maintenance of chart of accounts
Preferred Qualifications Competencies
- Five years financial, accounting and/or auditing experience
- Individual should possess strong analytical, computer application, interpersonal, administrative, and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting or Finance required
- Masters Degree Preferred
- CPA Preferred
