Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Clark Schaefer Hackett, we believe talented audit professionals do their best work when they're given

exposure, support, and a voice in the direction of their career. Whether you're passionate about serving middle-market businesses, non-profit organizations, employee benefit plans, construction and real estate

clients, governmental entities, or simply exploring where your interests may lead, you'll have the opportunity to build a practice that aligns with your strengths and goals.

Just as important, you'll do it surrounded by people who genuinely enjoy working together.

Our Columbus office is a highly collaborative, relationship-driven environment where team members invest in one another, leaders are accessible, and client relationships are built on trust that often spans decades.

The culture we live is built on the belief that ambition and balance don't have to be mutually exclusive. We believe great careers are built through strong relationships, meaningful work, and the ability to pursue significant professional goals without sacrificing the people and priorities that matter most.

If you're looking for a place where your career can be intentional rather than prescribed, we'd welcome the conversation.

What You'll Do

The work we do ultimately isn't about financial statements. It's about people.

Behind every audit are business owners pursuing a vision, nonprofit leaders serving their communities, and organizations working to create opportunities for others. As an Audit Senior, you'll have the chance to develop meaningful relationships with those clients, understand what matters most to them, and contribute to work that helps them move forward with confidence.

From the first planning conversation to the final deliverable, you'll play an active role throughout the engagement while building the technical, leadership, and relationship skills that define a successful career in public accounting.

You'll:

  • Lead audit engagements from planning through completion, helping ensure quality, accuracy, and exceptional client service.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients by developing a deep understanding of their organizations, goals, and challenges.
  • Mentor and develop staff team members through coaching, review, and hands-on guidance.
  • Evaluate risk, review financial reporting, and help ensure audits are completed to the highest professional standards.
  • Partner with managers and shareholders to solve problems, provide meaningful insights, and deliver value beyond compliance.
What Makes This Opportunity Different

At CSH, career growth isn't one-size-fits-all.

Some professionals want to become technical specialists. Others are energized by client relationships, team leadership, or industry expertise. Whatever direction interests you, we work alongside you to help build the experiences that support those goals.

Areas where our team continues to serve a broad range of clients include:

  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Employee Benefit Plans
  • Governmental entities
  • Privately held and middle-market businesses

You don't have to arrive with a defined niche. Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to grow matter just as much.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of audit experience, preferably in public accounting
  • Solid understanding of auditing principles and financial reporting
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred
