Safety Coordinator

Apple Grove, WV | SAFETY

G.A. West & Co. is seeking a Safety Coordinator for a project in Apple Grove, WV. This assignment is expected to last 3+ years.

• Lead in promoting company safety culture
• Monitor all safety issues and concerns, and ensure standards of safety are adhered to
• Verify all work is performed in compliance with company EH&S program and contract safety specifications
• Assist in the monitoring of subcontractor safety performance
• Conduct regular jobsite and work area inspections, noting safety violations and corrective actions
• Thoroughly investigate all incidents (including near miss, injury, property damage, general liability) immediately and perform root cause analysis
• Perform risk assessments and develop safety protocols
• Lead safety trainings and meetings
• Prepare and submit JSAs, investigative reports, reprimands, etc.
• Assist project teams in identifying hazards and implementing controls
• Immediately address safety violations at job site(s)
• Assist Project Superintendents in establishing, implementing, and monitoring jobsite emergency action plans.
• Work with Superintendents and Project Managers to obtain and manage required safety documents, signage, and equipment for all assigned job sites
• Verify all workers have the necessary training for the tasks they are performing.
• Other related duties as assigned

• Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and 5 years of experience is preferred. A combination of knowledge and field experience will be considered.
• Must have an OSHA 30
• Must be willing to travel
