Salary Guide: £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE) Plus Car Allowance and Excellent Benefits

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who are delivering a number of water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects for Thames Water. They are recruiting for Foremen, Section Foreman and General Foreman to work on these projects throughout Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and communicate between all parts of the operations team including suppliers, subcontractors, engineering, SHEQ and customer teams.
  • Report to either a Site Agent or Project Manager depending on project complexity, and manage, maintain and enforce health, safety, quality, sustainability and wellbeing standards across the site/project.
  • Appraise the risk to the scheme in conjunction with the Project Manager and install and monitor adequate site security.
  • Manage the project procurement process for suppliers and contractors in line with Company processes and commercial best practice.
  • Ensure the site fulfils all obligations for external compliance audit.
  • Ensure Permit to Work systems, inductions and briefings are correctly carried out.
  • Plan and co-ordinate the operational delivery of the project as required.
  • Oversee day-to-day construction processes and ensure coordination within the site team, client and contractors.
  • Attend meetings with and maintain regular contact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Assist with the control and monitoring of the progress of the works.
  • Administer reporting systems (e.g., delivery notes, plant hire and collections, waste management) to maximise cash flow and profitability.
  • Implement strict controls on subcontractors, suppliers, and operatives.
  • Post contract: organise and coordinate the undertaking of maintenance work.
  • Ensure full participation in operative staff development, review, training, and mentoring.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of working for a major sized Civil Engineering Contractor on water or major highways schemes.
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations, with a broad understanding of construction techniques and best practices.
  • Experience of managing and developing staff.
  • Proactive approach to environment and customer care of all project stakeholders; promote a positive image of the Company name.
  • Specialist knowledge may be desirable or essential depending on project/work section.
  • CITB Level 3 Safety Course SMSTS (5 day)
  • Appropriate CSCS card
  • First Aid at Work (4 day)
  • Practical training in forms of contract, scaffolding appreciation, formwork/falsework appreciation, concrete technology, H&S management, planning, etc.
  • Appointed person and Temporary Works Co-ordinator.
