The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and WVU School of Medicine’s Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry seek a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (ranks available Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor) for Healthy Minds Moundsville located in Moundsville, WV.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed a psychiatry residency program and be board certified/eligible in child and adolescent psychiatry. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Duties:
Candidate will practice in the area of child and adolescent psychiatry in the outpatient clinic of Healthy Minds Moundsville. Responsibilities include medication management, collaboration with local schools, and overseeing Advanced Practice Providers.
Healthy Minds Moundsville is a behavioral medicine outpatient clinic. The office currently consists of the following staff:
Psychiatrists, Advance Practice Providers, Clinical Therapists, Medical Assistants, and Receptionists. On a monthly basis Healthy Minds Moundsville has over 800 patient visits. We are looking to expand services into offsite locations within the local surrounding area. We are looking to hire case managers and more clinical therapists so that we can add various group therapies to the services provided.
WVU Medicine Children’s Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry has an acute psychiatric adolescent unit to provide crisis care for children and adolescents at WVU Medicine’s Healthy Minds. They offer inpatient stabilization through psychiatric hospitalization for adolescents with suicidal ideations, psychotic symptoms, and other types of severe distress. Typical stays are five to seven days.
Reynolds Memorial Hospital is a nonprofit, acute-care community hospital and member of the West Virginia University Health System, licensed for 90 beds. As an extension of WVU Medicine, a full range of medical keeps patients close to home while receiving quality care for cancer, cardiac and pulmonary disease, orthopedic conditions, psychiatry services, and much more. Reynolds continues to add and expand services.
The Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry is part of the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. The RNI team of 280 dedicated faculty provide compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve. The Institute spearheads efforts to develop innovative solutions for neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s; autism to stroke;
and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.
