Class 101 – Ashburn, VA empowers students and families with expert college planning guidance that simplifies the complex college admissions process. From test prep to essay coaching and financial aid counseling, we help students achieve their goals while reducing stress.

Position Overview

As a 1099 SAT & ACT Test Prep Instructor at Class 101 in Ashburn, VA, you will teach SAT and ACT preparation classes using our established curriculum. You will help students master content, develop test‑taking strategies, and build confidence for test day.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging instruction covering all SAT and ACT sections (English, Math, Reading, Science, and optional Writing).
  • Teach test‑taking strategies such as time management, pacing, process of elimination, and educated guessing.
  • Adapt lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and provide personalized support.
  • Use practice test results and diagnostic data to assess progress, identify trends, and provide targeted feedback.
  • Motivate students, reduce test anxiety, and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Manage classroom schedules and ensure smooth class operation.
  • Assist students with test registration, deadlines, and accommodation requests.
Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of SAT and ACT structures, content, and scoring.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience with proven results.
  • Strong subject‑matter proficiency in English/Grammar, Math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Data Analysis), Reading, Science, and optional Writing.
  • Excellent communication, adaptability, and data‑driven instructional skills.
  • Tech‑savvy; comfortable with online platforms for remote teaching.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s in counseling, education, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including first‑generation and neurodivergent learners.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends).
  • Experience in college admissions counseling or academic advising is a plus.
Compensation

This is a contract position paid hourly. Competitive pay ranges from $40.00 to $65.00 per hour, depending on experience. Flexible work‑from‑home options available.
