Our Chemical & Environmental Safety division is a market leader, providing a wide range of essential products that ensure chemical and environmental compliance across numerous industries. We manufacture equipment designed for the secure storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials, including chemical safety cabinets, spill containment systems, and safety cans. Our comprehensive product portfolio also includes safety showers, eyewashes, and chemical labeling items, all aimed at protecting workers and assets.

Justrite Safety Group is seeking an innovative New Product Development Engineer to join our engineering team. The NPD engineer will play a key role in driving product innovation from concept to production, working cross-functionally to develop and launch high quality safety products that meet regulatory and market needs. It will require travel to our other facilities within Justrite Safety Group.

By collaborating closely with cross-functional partners in R&D, operations, and marketing, we ensure every product is engineered for performance, reliability, and scalability. WhatYou’ll Do at Justrite
- Lead or support the development of new products from ideation through design, prototyping, testing, and product launch.
- Conduct design feasibility studies, risk assessments, and DFMEA.
- Collaborate with the engineering team, marketing, operations, sales, quality, and supply chain.
- Work in a structured Tollgate process to ensure NPD success.
- Key member of design reviews, Tollgate reviews, and project updates.
- Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) initiatives to optimize cost and production efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Conduct R&D and all associated testing for NPD.
- Stay up to date on new methods, processes, and technologies to drive innovation.
To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, product design, or related field.
- Five years of experience in NPD.
- Proficient in Solid Works, CAD, and modeling.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and management skills.
- Travel when needed.

- Office, lab, shop floor environments.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 to $115,000. Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance.
