• High school diploma or equivalent

• Enrollment at West Virginia University as a part-time or full-time student.

• Performs visual field testing, lensometry and keratometry on patients.
• Conducts and records formal and informal visual fields to include confrontation, Amsler Grid, Goldmann Perimetry, automated perimetry, and OCT.
• Interacts with and assists clinical staff and faculty.

• Must be able to carry and move heavy objects in excess of forty pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift, move, stoop, reach, and stand for long intervals.
• Vision correctable to at least 20/30 in one eye.

• Normal outpatient clinical environment; may be exposed to biohazards and communicable disease.
• Working with ophthalmic lasers frequently and may need to wear protective eye equipment.
• May work with blood, lab specimens, and other patient bodily fluids requiring universal precautions.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a high‑volume clinic.
• Ability to operate ophthalmic equipment and computers.
• Strong analytical skills to complete the technical aspects of patient examinations.
