MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Radiography certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided:
Radiographer license through the Maryland Board of Physicians, Ohio Board of Radiology, WVUHS West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board or other state licenses as applicable. - Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
- State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable) as required for regulated areas.
- Radiography certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided:
Radiographer license through the Maryland Board of Physicians, Ohio Board of Radiology, and WVUHS West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board or other state licenses as applicable.
- One (1) year of computed tomography experience.
- Computed Tomography certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or actively working in multiple modalities.
- Prepares room, equipment, materials, as needed for patient exams, including sterile technique. Cleans and disinfects rooms and equipment following each patient exam, using current infection control policies.
- Performs examinations per Physician’s orders and explains procedures to the patients. Documents any variations from protocol due to patient’s condition or other unknown cause and relays patient history and clinical data to Radiologist.
- Observes patient and equipment and reports any unusual occurrences or changes. Transports and assists patients as needed.
- Documents status of patient in reference to radiology/CT procedure on patient’s chart.
- Documents variances repeats and other such occurrences to help maintain high quality health care and opportunity for quality improvement.
- Maintains stock supplies, performs general office duties, responsible for proper film labeling and following prescribed techniques to assure acceptable quality and consistency.
- Practices safe radiation exposure and protection as well as general safety for patient’s, visitors, and staff at all times.
- Participates in the patient safety training and patient protection, including the needs and methods to report medical/healthcare errors and abuse.
- Produces diagnostic quality images utilizing CT equipment and effectively judges CT images for proper technique to best demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
- Performs diagnostic studies using mobile radiographic equipment in emergency or patient rooms as ordered by physician. Performs diagnostic studies in surgical suite with C-Arm and other equipment.
- Provides care specific to the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- May perform IV insertion/blood draws.
- Administer IV/Oral/Rectal contrast for CT imaging procedures per radiologist protocol/department manual and ordering physician/care provider order.
- Utilize PACS to ensure exams are completed and available for the radiologist to read and for the referring physician/care provider review.
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and feeling are necessary body movements utilized in performing duties throughout the work shift.
