Elite Hospital Kingwood TEAM members care for patients presenting with cases from acute trauma to chronic illnesses, lacerations to fractures. The Lab Tech is an integral part of the Elite Hospital Kingwood TEAM by performing point-of-care services along with other patient-centric services.

Elite Hospital Kingwood- is seeking Lab Techs who can deliver Best-In-Class care to patients of all ages with various emergency medical needs. To qualify for this position, candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Recent lab experience in a hospital or emergency room setting preferred.
  • Willing to consider candidates with other hospital or emergency room clinical experience.
  • Be passionate in the pursuit of delivering Best-In-Class care
  • Have a valid AHA or BLS certification.
  • Has earned a High School Diploma or GED

POSITION SUMMARY

The Lab Technician is responsible for providing information for patient diagnosis and treatment by performing point-of-care laboratory tests in the hospital setting. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: Q uality assurance activities and application of policies and procedures in the delivery of care. Building strong positive communications with staff and work as a team to enhance the success of the facility.

Label, sort and check specimens and organize all information into the computer system. Create a safe environment for all by keeping work areas clean and ensuring none of the medical equipment becomes contaminated. Serve as a resource for all members of the staff, which includes answering questions when asked and participating in any educational opportunities as they arise. Maintains patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential.

Identifies the presence of drugs of abuse, therapeutic drugs, and toxic substances by operating toxicology instrumentation and performing manual methods for the performance of drug screens. Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and DNV standards.
