System Administrator

GCyber is hiring a System Administrator, to support our newly awarded United States Coast Guard (USCG) Maverick contract. The System Administrator will manage, maintain, and optimize servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications to support continuous operations and mission-critical activities.

This position is 6:45am – 7:00pm Sunday – Tuesday and is located in Kearneysville, WV.

• Manage, maintain, and optimize servers, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and enterprise applications in a 24/7 environment.
• Administer virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V) and Active Directory/Group Policy to ensure secure, efficient operations.
• Monitor system health and performance using tools like Solar Winds, enforcing security protocols and best practices to protect data.
• Troubleshoot complex server, OS, and application issues while automating routine tasks with Power Shell and Bash scripting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate IT services effectively, supporting shift work to meet continuous operational demands.

• Active DoD Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree with 5‑8 years of experience (or commensurate experience)
• 8570 IAT II certification (i.e., Security+, CCNA‑Security, CND, CySA+, GCSP, GSEC, SSCP)
• Minimum of 5‑8 years of experience in system administration or related roles.
• Proficiency in managing and maintaining Windows and Linux servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V) and system security best practices
• Experience with scripting languages such as Power Shell and Bash
