Job SummaryProvide security for court complex buildings in Paw Paw and South Haven.
Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills- High school diploma or GED required
- Graduate of the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy. MCOLES certified or certifiable
- Citizen of the United States
- Previous law enforcement experience and ability to use firearms
- Knowledge of modern law enforcement practices and procedures
- Valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and dependable transportation (satisfactory driving record required)
Enforce regulations, investigate criminal and traffic offenses, maintain contact with law enforcement agencies, provide reports, accompany inmates to court, and testify in legal cases. Other duties may be assigned.
Other RequirementsEmployment dependent on background check, criminal history, and drug screening. Must complete County application form.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone. Reports to Sheriff’s Department Administration; assists Prosecuting Attorney's Office and reports to the head court security deputy and judges.
Work Location and Physical DemandsMay require travel, working evenings or weekends, walking, standing, and running for extended periods. Pre-employment physical, drug screening, and comprehension exam required.
