Assistant Director, Parks and Recreation

The City of Pigeon Forge Public Works Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time Assistant Parks and Recreation Director, with a starting pay of $78,208-$119,516 per year. The City offers a highly competitive compensation and benefits package.
Job Description: Responsible for assisting the Director of Parks and Recreation with the supervision and management of City Maintenance, Park Maintenance, and the Community Center. Duties include administrative work such as planning, marketing, grant writing, grant management, and assisting with community center and recreational facilities. Activities involve overseeing maintenance of parks and recreational areas, assessing departmental needs, planning and organizing parks and recreation programs, and designing and overseeing construction and maintenance of recreational facilities.
Additional responsibilities include developing policies and procedures, managing budgets, handling financial operations, and organizing public events.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management, or a related field from an accredited institution. Experience supervising large community centers and recreational programs, building and park maintenance activities preferred. Ability to supervise staff, develop and monitor budgets, and handle confidential information. Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in computer applications and a valid driver’s license.
