The Galvanize Process Metallurgist includes, but is not limited to, developing best practices to improve safety, quality, efficiency, yield, productivity, and costs. Working closely with the team to develop and optimize process and product development, lead quality improvement efforts, and utilize statistical tools to direct continuous improvement activities.

Nucor Steel West Virginia’s greenfield project is a new state‑of‑the‑art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years of flat rolled carbon sheet steel experience.
• Minimum of one year of galvanizing line experience.

• Experience with hot dip galvanized, galvannealed, and 55% Al‑Zn Coated Products.
