Tooling Mold Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The primary role for this position is to perform equipment tear downs, diagnose, maintain, and facilitate the repair of injection molds and associated equipment. The technician will be expected to perform preventive maintenance and complete assigned tasks to ensure consistent quality and to minimize production downtime. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, physical endurance, attention to detail, and must work well with others.

This position requires the operation of forklift and overhead crane rigging.

$23/hr-$30/hr (Based on Experience)

• Follow work instructions and company safety standards.
• Receive and send reports daily (Microsoft Outlook).
• Troubleshoot problems by critical thinking and discussing with management.
• Collaborate with engineering team to solve tooling issues.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble complex plastic injection molds.
• Laser weld and bench mold components.
• Diagnose and repair hot runner systems.
• Inspect components utilizing precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.

• High school diploma.
• 2 years of experience in plastic injection mold maintenance.
• Basic blueprint reading (CAD experience a plus).
• Strong understanding of machining practices related to mold industry.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of mold metals and application and repair methods.
• Hydraulic build and repairs (hydraulic hoses, cylinders, etc.).
• Basic Microsoft Office.
• Forklift experience.
• Overhead crane experience.
• Self‑motivated and dependable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well as a team member and leader.
• Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Some experience in a manufacturing environment helpful.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and to humid conditions and temperature extremes.

Position requires the abilities to walk, sit, stand, lift and carry up to 60 pounds; ability to hear, understand and convey verbal communications of and to other personnel.
