Youth Development
Location: Hillsboro
Our flagship initiative, New Vision Village, provides housing, employment pathways, and wrap-around support primarily for young adults aging out of foster care or facing housing instability. Residents gain hands-on job experience through our construction crews while developing life skills, accountability, and long-term career direction in a structured, supportive environment. Individuals in recovery rebuild stability through meaningful employment while foster youth gain positive role models who demonstrate perseverance, responsibility, and personal transformation.
Together they work on building homes, community infrastructure, and renewable energy projects that strengthen individual futures. New Vision also invests heavily in prevention through the Prevention Works Pathfinders youth program, which engages teenagers with leadership development, workforce readiness, and positive peer community. Pathfinders often interact with the village and construction initiatives through service opportunities, mentoring connections, and exposure to career pathways.
Extending this mission globally, New Vision distributes solar panel kits to developing regions, allowing participants across all programs to contribute to humanitarian outreach while learning technical skills and the value of service beyond their immediate community.
Help coordinate and support up to 150 volunteers from across the country as they participate in mission-focused service projects in our community. During these initiatives, assist in teaching and mentoring youth ages 14-18 through our Pathfinders program. These experiences provide young people with practical life skills, exposure to trade work, and positive mentorship that supports their personal growth and future readiness.
Each K12 student will receive 4 two hour sessions each week, 30 weeks out of the year. Broken down into 3x 10 week sessions. The sessions are broken down into Workforce Development, self-care-attitude-health, employability, substance prevention, finance, problem solving, and fostering healthy relationships.
