New River Animal Hospital is looking for a Pet Groomer to join our team in Nimitz, West Virginia. Whether you’ve been grooming professionally for years or are newer to the field and ready to continue building your skills, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and genuinely enjoys caring for animals.

Grooming is already an established service within our hospital, giving you the opportunity to work with an existing client base while being supported by a veterinary team focused on patient safety, comfort, and quality care.

• No weekends - Our hospital is open Monday through Friday.

• Established grooming clientele - Step into a practice where grooming services are already in demand.
• Veterinary support on-site - Medical support is available when health concerns are noticed during grooming.

• Opportunity to grow - Continue developing your grooming skills in an established veterinary setting.

• Bathe, brush, dry, clip, trim, and style dogs and cats.

• Perform breed-specific and customized cuts based on client preferences.

• Provide nail trims, ear cleaning, de-shedding, and routine coat care.

• Safely handle pets of different breeds, sizes, temperaments, and coat conditions.
• Communicate with pet owners regarding grooming requests and maintenance needs.
• Monitor pets for changes in their skin, coat, ears, nails, or overall condition and communicate concerns to the veterinary team.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grooming area.

• Help create a calm and positive grooming experience for every pet.

• Grooming experience or grooming training preferred.

• Comfortable working with dogs of different breeds and sizes.

• Cat grooming experience is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of grooming techniques, coat care, and safe animal handling.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Dependable and organized.

• Good communication and customer-service skills.

• Patient, compassionate, and comfortable working with animals.

• Willingness to learn and continue developing grooming skills.

Monday-Friday No Saturdays. No Sundays.

Starting at $15/hr

Compensation will be based on experience and the agreed-upon grooming compensation structure.

New River Animal Hospital has been caring for pets and families in the community since 1988. Our grooming services are part of the overall care we provide, giving our groomer the unique advantage of working within an established veterinary practice with medical support close by.
