Schedule:
40 hours per week, Full-Time (United States of America – Non-Exempt)
- Maintain consistent visibility and presence at assigned locations to provide information and directional resources for all patients, visitors, and staff, 100% of the time.
- Respond to all patient, visitor, and staff requests for information/assistance in a caring, courteous manner, 100% of the time.
- Provide physical assistance, wheelchair assistance, transport services, escort services, and room access to patients, visitors, and staff accessing hospital facilities.
- Monitor and maintain traffic flow in hospital parking areas and roadways, assisting disabled vehicles, issuing parking permits, and warning violations.
- Protect people and property by preventing accidents, theft, and vandalism, in accordance with hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Perform routine building rounds, building door unlocks, exterior building and parking lot patrols, and ensure safety and proper operating conditions of vehicles.
- Make recommendations to management, staff, visitors, and patients to improve security and prevent accidents and crime.
- Report suspicious situations, circumstances, incidents, and persons according to hospital and department policy.
- Assist during fire and disaster drills, animal control issues, transportation of valuables, and lost/found issues, according to policy.
- Provide written documentation of activities, incidents, premises safety, accidents, theft, vandalism, and other data requested by supervision.
- Respond to and provide assistance during emergency situations such as assaults, domestic disputes, fires, vandalism, bomb threats, theft, vehicle accidents, and disasters.
- Perform patient restraint as directed by clinical staff and be capable of physical intervention when appropriate.
- Operate hospital-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner and perform vehicle inspections as outlined by policy.
- Other requirements include incident reporting, routine building rounds, incident investigation, crowd control, disaster response, domestic disputes, traffic direction, policy enforcement, and emergency response.
- Above minimum experience and education requirements.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for the entire shift or double shift.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 80 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate adverse environmental conditions for entire shift or double shift.
- Medical fitness evaluation required upon hire or transfer and periodic evaluation thereafter; report any significant health changes.
- Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions while performing duties.
- Perform effectively under stressful situations.
- Good decision‑making skills.
- Organize and maintain document controls.
- Write well‑documented reports.
- Be a team player and contributor.
- Maintain confidentiality.
