Overview

Construction - Billboard Installer – Lamar Advertising Company, Kenova, West Virginia. Install and maintain outdoor advertising billboards, including structures, signage, and cosmetic maintenance. The role works as part of an installation crew, providing comprehensive training and equipment to launch a career in outdoor advertising.

• Install and maintain all billboard structures, including removal and hanging of flexes, vinyl, and preparation of flexes and vinyl for installation.
• Perform structure repairs: tighten bolts, paint steel structures, repair trim and various parts of the sign face and structure, change light bulbs, assemble structures and faces as required.
• Build and install extensions, cut brush/weeds, conduct storm damage repairs, minor electrical repairs, and sweep/clean workshop area.
• Use power and manual tools while adhering to all safety regulations and attend safety meetings as required.
• Maintain operation vehicles; maintain tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Document installations with completion photos and written logs.
• Perform heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds), extensive bending, pushing, reaching, and climbing to heights up to 200 ft.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• OSHA 10‑hour Construction course completion is required.
• Preferred certifications: CDL/Non‑CDL, Crane, Signal, Rigging, LDD.
• Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. above ground is preferred.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Basic computer skills including Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Ability to comply with Lamar safety standards while performing work, including working from ladders and carrying ladders/tools to the worksite.
• Working knowledge of electrical skills, fabrication skills, and reading technical documents such as blueprints and diagrams.
• General knowledge of DOT and OSHA safety regulations.
• Ability to safely use construction equipment, climb heights, document installations, and apply practical mathematics to construction tasks.

• Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm schedule.
• Hourly rate of $17 / hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
