Underground Utility Worker

The essential functions of this hourly position include:

• Operate mining equipment consistent with task training and operational necessities of the mine
• Assist in maintenance activities consistent with training and the needs of the mine
• Set floor to roof supports
• Build or hang ventilation controls
• Hang and handle power cables
• Lay rail
• Rock dust
• Shovel and cleanup spillage
• Load and unload supplies and handle materials
• Mine drainage including pumping and ditching
• Assist in power moves
• Assist in belt moves, installation and repair
• Watch out for the safety of self and co-workers
• Perform all required pre‑operational checks before operating equipment
• Perform any other assigned tasks for which you are qualified by virtue of training or experience

• WV Miner's Card - Black Hat (Required)

• Operate equipment in a safe efficient manner
• Use various hand tools
• Lift, carry, push, pull tools, materials and supplies 50–100 lbs. regularly
• Walk, bend, climb, reach, crawl as necessary
• Work closely with others in a team environment

• 8 hour shift + hot seat
• Rotating shifts
• Monday through Friday, occasional Saturday
• Overtime – as required, and/or voluntary
