As an Ironworker
, you'll be an integral part of constructing solid, enduring structures. Your duties will involve raising, placing, and connecting girders, columns, and other structural steel components.

The role involves:

• Unloading and lifting steel and materials from trucks
• Setting up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members
• Signaling workers operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel members
• Pulling, pushing, or prying steel members into approximate position to bolt the pieces together
• Welding members or pieces into place
• Spreading, screwing, and/or welding metal sheets of steel for floor or roof decking and on sides of building
• Adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an ironworker
• Required hand tools
• Able to read and/or comprehend company policies
• Certification papers proving welding ability

Physical demands:

• Lifting more than 50 pounds frequently
• Climbing more than 300 feet
• Pulling own weight when climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding up to 150 feet
• Excessive amounts of bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50 pounds
• Tolerating temperature fluctuations, a loud and dusty work environment, and being around high voltage electromagnetic fields
