Degas Technician (Full Time)

Location: Metz, WV

• Must work safely in the mines
• Will be required to become familiar with the drilling rig and be able to do minor repairs.
• Must learn the art/science of horizontal drilling from senior drillers
• Must learn how to lay and dismantle gas pipe lines and will be required to carry pipes short distances and load/unload them
• Must be able to plug a borehole after it ceases to produce gas
• In-house training will be provided to the new employee with the expectation of learning all functions of the job within 1 to 2 years

• At least one to two (1-2) years previous underground mining experience with Black Hat Certification, preferred but should at least have Red Hat Certification, minimum
• Any additional skill, such as welding, machining, electrical certification, knowledge of industrial hydraulics is preferred

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred
• Reliable transportation
• Regular and punctual attendance
• Compliance with company policies, procedures and safety standard
• Must perform in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
• Must have completed the 80-hour apprentice mining class and possess Red Hat certification
• Must be capable of effectively, efficiently and accurately performing duties
• Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
• Must be able to successfully complete industry approved training courses
• Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
• Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule on a 24/7 basis (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
• Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
• Ability to push/pull as needed
• Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
• Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
