The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. This position may manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence or on opposing shifts and should lead the store team in servicing customers. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including team execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours (lunch, late afternoon, evenings, weekends).
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring training is current.
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
- Answer telephone according to company policy.
- Process all buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner and contact customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
- Process and stage retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately, and manage returned merchandise as required.
- Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, including posted work schedules, appropriate deviations approved by management, and accurate clock-in/out.
- Perform store opening/closing duties and day-end procedures, manage money deposits per policy, and secure the building and delivery vehicles as needed.
- Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.
- Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification;
Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
