Transmission Line Senior Engineer

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.

Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization. Scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, executing, monitoring and reporting of transmission line projects and proposals.

Oversee a project team of engineers, designers, drafters and support staff. Execute ECI’s quality control procedures, coordinate with subject‑matter expert discipline groups (Substation Engineering, Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right‑of‑Way, Project Management/Controls) to ensure successful project execution.

Serve as ECI’s primary interface with clients and other stakeholders. Provide technical mentorship and training to project team design staff.

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, 10+ years’ project engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of demonstrated project management and leadership experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills.
• Commitment to quality and accuracy; willingness and ability to meet fast‑paced project schedules.
• PE license and PMP certification preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principles, applicable codes, standards, and design tools; ability to direct and oversee multiple technical disciplines.
• Ability to resolve conflicting priorities and schedules.
• Subject to client‑mandated drug and background checking; occasional travel/driving required. Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
