Overview
Westborough Behavioral Health Hospital is looking for a dynamic Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our expanding hospital. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner examines patients, provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnoses, provides consultation, participates in treatment planning among a multi-disciplinary team and prescribes medications as appropriate. The Psychiatrist also functions as an educator and collaborates with other clinicians and nursing staffing regarding health promotion, medication, and crisis management for patients.

- Accountable for assigned patients and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional psychiatric practice in the inpatient unit
- Responsible for admission orders and evaluations
- Provides integrative care including consultation and recommendation for medications, dietary changes, supplementation, healthy lifestyle counseling, and other integrative medicine approaches
- Communicates with other providers to ensure continuity and coordination
- Functions as part of an interdisciplinary clinical team
- Works alongside Westborough Behavioral Health clinical management and staff to support the inpatient programs
- Master's degree in nursing required. Completion of an accredited educational program for nurse practitioners required, with specialization in child or adult mental health.
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with authorization by the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice in an expanded role.
- Registered with the ANCC or other accrediting organization for Nurse Practitioners with certification in child or adult mental health.
- Registered with the State of Massachusetts and DEA for prescription writing privileges.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Minimum of three years of current clinical nursing experience and two years experience in adult practice required. Prior experience in Psychiatry preferred.
