Accounting Clerk

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Westbrook, Maine. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and comfortable handling both payables and receivables in a fast-paced setting. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate records, process transactions efficiently, and contribute to smooth accounting workflows using tools such as Quick Books and invoice processing systems.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting details, and prepare payments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Record incoming customer payments and update receivable balances to keep account information current.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain organized documentation for invoices, payment activity, and account records for audit and reporting purposes.
• Reconcile account information and investigate discrepancies to support accurate financial reporting.
• Use Quick Books and related platforms to manage routine accounting transactions and track financial activity.
• Communicate with internal team members and external contacts to resolve billing or payment questions promptly.
