Accounting Assistant

We are in search of a detail-oriented, and efficient Accounting Assistant to join our team at American Roots.

You will be responsible for supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and reporting. You will ensure the accuracy of financial data, maintain compliance with internal controls, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department. This role is essential for maintaining organized financial records and supporting day-to-day business operations.

• Process and log accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts and general ledger entries
• Assist with month- and year-end closing procedures
• Prepare and maintain financial reports, spreadsheets and documentation
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in invoices, payments and account balances
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and reporting
• Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Take ownership of special projects to support additional needs for accounting department and company overall

• 1-2 year minimum of accounting experience including account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable
• Experience with supporting audits, and financial reporting
• Data fluency and analytics preferred
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel is required
• Proficiency with ERP software( ie Oracle Net Suite,
• Stellar organizational skills and attention to detail
• Problem solving mindset
• Comfort level with fast paced dynamic work environment

Job type:
Full-time, salaried exempt role

Salary: $52,500 annual salary with expected 40-45 hour work week
