Woodfords' Family Services is looking for a fun, engaging, and compassionate educator to join our Special Purpose Private School as Lead Teacher! This is a full-time (40 hours) position located at our school in Westbrook, ME!
Position Summary
Woodfords' Special Purpose Private School (SPPS) Program provides early intervention supports and services to students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a therapeutic and treatment-based environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will be an integral part of leading a team that's responsible for the day-to-day operations and general functioning of the classroom. This role supports ongoing efforts in guiding students toward achieving goals related to cognitive, social, and emotional growth and maturation.
Opportunity Details
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
- $54,000 per year starting salary
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, in special education, early childhood or a related field. Educational Technician III eligible
- A minimum of a conditional or full K-8 282 Certification; full K-8 282 certification preferred, from the Maine Department of Education; as well as Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience and the desire to work with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Must have a valid driver's license
