New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is growing. We are seeking a full-time Data Analyst to work closely with leaders across all departments to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions. The role ensures data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures, and uses advanced data modeling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings and drive business outcomes.
Responsibilities- Understands business needs and objectives
- Develops strategies for effective data analysis and reporting
- Defines company-wide metrics and relevant data sources
- Selects, configures, and implements analytics solutions
- Extracts reports from multiple sources (e.g. operations, IT, customer feedback)
- Builds systems to transform raw data into actionable business insights
- Applies industry knowledge to interpret data and improve performance
- Assists with other special projects as assigned to the department in support of overall organizational goals
- Participates in various meetings, supporting NECS' data needs internally and externally
- Bachelor's Degree in related field;
Master’s Degree preferred - At least 5 years of experience working with EHR systems and Billing systems
- Advanced Excel — formulas, formatting, filters, conditional formatting, pivot tables, dashboards, charts
- Advanced SQL — views, stored procedures, joins, functions, triggers, built-in functions
- Advanced SSRS — create and modify reports, subscriptions, deployment, charts, export options
- Advanced Power BI — dashboards, data updates via queries, DAX, app imports, predictive analytics tools
- Knowledge of Project Management steps (Concept planning, Execute, Control, Close)
- Knowledge to build Windows apps using , Python, R
- Strong communication with executive leaders, directors, managers, employees, vendors, and consultants
- Ability to collaborate with Database Administrator (DBA) to design and enhance data flow and data warehouse
- Ability to monitor and assess performance to recommend workflow improvements
- Knowledge of statistics and experience analyzing datasets
- Aptitude for queries, report writing, and presenting findings
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Ability to manage competing demands
- Objectivity and openness to others views

Location& Compensation
Portland, ME: $110,000–$130,000
Cumberland County, ME: $82,000–$100,000
Portland, ME: $60,000–$75,000 (example ranges shown in listing)
