Pro Search is seeking a Senior Data Architect for a hybrid role based in Westbrook, Maine, to support a confidential client’s rapidly advancing global LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) initiatives. In this position, you will design and architect cloud-native data pipelines, build scalable data solutions, and support near real‑time data delivery across a fast‑paced scientific research environment. This is a high‑impact opportunity for a seasoned data architecture professional with strong experience in AWS, Apache Spark, Python, and modern data engineering practices.

• Hands‑on experience building cloud‑native data services and pipelines (not traditional ETL) using infrastructure‑as‑code and large‑scale processing engines such as Apache Spark
• Strong expertise with SQL and at least one programming language (
  Python preferred
  )
• Exceptional problem‑solving abilities and a proven track record of working independently

• Data modeling experience, including data warehouse and data lake architectures
• Knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases (document stores, key‑value stores, etc.)
• Experience working with AWS technologies such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, IAM
• Experience with Snowflake
• Understanding of engineering best practices around SDLC, version control, and CI/CD

As a Senior Data Architect, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable, fault‑tolerant data pipelines and services that power critical diagnostics systems. You’ll be instrumental in improving near real‑time data delivery, ensuring accuracy, performance, and reliability across the architecture.

This position reports to the Development Manager and operates within an Agile team environment, requiring close coordination with engineering, product, QE, and customer‑focused partners.

• Design and implement scalable, serverless data solutions using AWS services such as Glue and Lambda
• Develop and optimize data pipelines that support near real‑time processing
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand data requirements and deliver complete, reliable solutions
• Document data flows, architecture decisions, and metadata to ensure transparency and maintainability
• Build fault‑tolerant systems that ensure high availability and resilience
• Partner with Quality Engineering to support testing and validation of data solutions
• Develop architecture that supports operational and business data needs across a global enterprise

• Strong analytical and independent problem‑solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining operational data pipelines

• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one major programming language (Python preferred)
• Office located in Westbrook, Maine
