Calling all foodies who have a passion for working with Maine & Northern New England's top restaurants! The Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in supporting Native Maine’s restaurant, hospitality, and retail customers by managing daily orders, building relationships, and driving sales growth within an assigned customer base. This role blends customer service, sales support, and account management — ensuring that every order reflects our local commitment to quality, reliability, and community.
The Inside Sales Representative serves as a trusted partner to chefs, buyers, and operators throughout Maine and New England.
- Proactively communicate with existing customers to take orders, suggest seasonal and local items, and identify new sales opportunities.
- Seasonal focus as assigned, based on priority business needs: supporting field sales during peak summer seasonal months for the region’s annual tourism boost, supporting K-12 school contracted business during school year.
- Provide exceptional service and support for all inbound calls, emails, and messages from customers during regular business hours.
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with restaurant and hospitality accounts, becoming a reliable resource for menu planning, substitutions, and product knowledge.
- Collaborate closely with field sales, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure smooth order flow, accurate fulfillment, and on‑time delivery.
- Maintain awareness of current produce markets, availability, and seasonal shifts to guide customers toward the best quality and value.
- Upsell and promote featured items, local farm products, and specialty foods aligned with Native Maine’s sourcing mission.
- Monitor customer buying trends and communicate feedback or changes in demand to management.
- Assist with credit and pricing inquiries, ensuring any issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Participate in sales campaigns, new product launches, and marketing initiatives designed to grow customer engagement and revenue.
- 2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or account management - ideally in food service distribution, wholesale produce, or related fields.
- Alternatively, 5+ years of Team Management experience within the Food service/Hospitality Operations arena and a self‑motivated, “hunter” mentality for those seeking to build a career alongside the food service industry.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, with a customer‑first mindset.
- Comfortable managing multiple accounts and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic familiarity with ERP/order management systems (e.g., Prophet 21, Net Suite, or similar).
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Knowledge or passion for food, restaurants, and locally sourced ingredients is strongly preferred.

- $100 per account.

- Paid quarterly, accruals effective from first day of employment.
