Assistant Project Manager (Westchester, NY / GC)

Role Overview
A general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support several active ground-up projects across Westchester, NY.
This is an opportunity for a construction APM who wants a broad role combining core project-management support with significant field exposure. You will work closely with a Project Manager and Senior Project Manager while taking on site-facing coordination responsibilities typically associated with a Superintendent.
Projects average approximately $15m, and the role will support several assignments at once.
Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager across multiple active projects.
• Assist with drawings, RFIs, submittals, procurement, material tracking and project documentation.
• Coordinate day-to-day site activity with foremen, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Help manage short-term schedules, look-aheads, manpower requirements, deliveries and jobsite logistics.
• Monitor work in the field for quality, safety, sequencing and progress against programme.
• Attend site meetings and support communication between office and field teams.
• Assist with change-order backup, field records, cost tracking and closeout requirements.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.

• 3–4+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or similar construction role.
• Ability to work confidently across both office-based and field-based responsibilities.
• Experience supporting ground-up construction projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, scheduling and procurement.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to commute to Westchester-based projects.

• Commercial or healthcare construction experience.
• Union carpentry experience.
• Exposure to carpentry scopes including drywall, metal studs, ceilings, doors, millwork or finishes.
• Procore and/or Bluebeam experience.

• $125,000 base salary, dependent on experience.
