As a Funeral Director/Embalmer Supervisor, you assist in the overall supervision of the business’s arranging needs and are responsible for a variety of tasks during the preparation, planning, and execution of the funeral and memorialization process to ensure services run smoothly and the expectations of client families and their guests are exceeded.
Responsibilities- Supervises day‑to‑day activities and schedules of funeral arranger staff.
- Accountable for overseeing the operations of the funeral home to ensure the expectations of client families and their guests are exceeded.
- Oversee the management of resources and day‑to‑day operations.
- Understand and monitor compliance of Federal, state, and local laws and regulations for operation of a cemetery, cemetery sales, crematory, and funeral home.
- Develop and monitor quality relationships with suppliers to ensure that products and services offered to the business add value to client family satisfaction and market share growth.
- Provide a high level of coaching, mentoring, and development to department heads and location staff.
- Inspections of all facilities, grounds, and locations to ensure all are maintained to standards.
- Develop and implement marketing plans to expand exposure of the location in the community.
- Sponsor on‑site community events that promote the business to the community.
- Develop relationships with community businesses and leaders.
- Assist direct reports with setting and meeting their goals.
- Encourage the development of new service offerings.
- Works independently with little or no supervision.
- 5 years of experience as a licensed Embalmer.
- Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
- Demonstrated willingness to participate in growing market share through personal community involvement.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to empathize with client families/guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
- Ability to actively listen to the needs of client families.
- Tactful and professional behavior when dealing with complaints or dissatisfaction with services or merchandise.
- Ability to train and energize staff.
$80k per year
