Overview
Product Manager (Edge Thermal) orting to:
Ashley Murphy – Supervisor Product Management. Role involves managing product roadmaps, gathering Voice of Customer (VoC) from regions, and developing product specifications to keep the portfolio competitive and profitable globally. Participates in New Product Development (NPD) with cross-functional teams including Engineering, PMO, Marketing, Sales, Service and Quality.
- Contribute to the Edge Thermal Roadmap and define offering strategy to meet Edge Thermal business targets
- Cooperate with regions to collect VoC and incorporate it into the global offering strategy and product roadmap
- Prepare Product specifications based on VoC to reflect regional and global requirements
- Prepare Business Cases to justify investments into new product development and demonstrate ROI
- Collaborate with regional marketing on product launches, including collaterals, sales trainings, website updates, and marketing communications
- Define and implement pricing strategy for new products; conduct regular price list reviews with regions to ensure profitability and competitiveness
- Own market data: work with external and internal resources to understand Edge Thermal market size and Vertiv’s market share
- Support Monthly and Quarterly business reviews
- Manage product life cycle
- Coordinate with Solutions team to ensure Edge Thermal offers can be integrated into solutions, reflect VOC in specifications, and provide product expertise
- Analyze competition and propose updates to close gaps
- Develop and manage sales enablement tools (CPQ, Configure 1, VSD) in support of Edge Thermal solutions
- Agility: ability to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities, managing long-term projects with urgent operational needs
- Analytical Rigor: structure ill-defined problems, synthesize insights, and provide actionable recommendations
- Communications Skills: develop rapport across the organization, promote ideas persuasively, and manage situations with senior leaders and external groups
- Strategic Thinking: evaluate trends, develop long-term implications, and recommend pragmatic strategies
- Customer Focus: work with sales teams and customers to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
- 2+ years of relevant experience in Product Management and/or Application Engineering and/or Technical sales
- Experience with air conditioning systems, air handling systems, consulting engineering, construction, or maintenance is a plus
- Experience working in international teams
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
- Experience with developing product strategy, roadmaps, positioning, and messaging globally (or willingness to learn)
- Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
- Ability to research, classify, prioritize requirements, communicate with stakeholders, and present ideas clearly
- Strong organization and prioritization skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English
- Enjoy working in a fluid and agile environment with fast release dates
- Ability to work independently or in cross-functional teams
- Highly motivated and proactive
- Approximately 1x per quarter (within US or internationally)
