Position Purpose: The Surgery department at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s has a total of 12 operating rooms. The Registered Nurse will be expected to care for cases related to ENT, general, gynecology, maxillofacial, neuro, orthopedics, plastics, podiatry, robotics, urology, and vascular. Mount Carmel St. Ann’s has excellent surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurse leaders who collaborate closely. The department has a family‑like feel and is an overall great environment to work in with a minimal call requirement.

What You Will Do- Provide nursing care, ensuring a patient‑safety environment, promoting evidence‑based practice and quality initiatives, and demonstrating professionalism within the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
- Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence‑based practice. Collaborate with patients and families to develop and implement a care plan that includes physical, spiritual, and educational components.
- Accurately communicate pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner. Keep patients/families apprised and updated.
- Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions, and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.
- Education:
Graduate from a school of nursing. - Licensure / Certification:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. - For primary RNs, 2 years of experience is required.
- New graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
