Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Westfield, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone who excels in financial operations and has a strong grasp of accounting principles. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.

- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records.

- Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with month-end and year-end closings.

- Utilize Quick Books Online to track financial data and generate reports.

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

- Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial documentation and statements.

- Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook for daily accounting tasks.

- Provide support for audits by gathering and organizing necessary financial documentation.

- Assist in developing and implementing accounting process improvements to enhance efficiency.

- Ensure the confidentiality and security of financial data at all times. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.

- Proficiency in Quick Books Online and familiarity with other accounting software.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes.

- Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

- Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.

- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
