POSITION: Academic Support Program Teacher WHS (2)
QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to supervise, motivate, and support at‑risk students in their personal and academic growth.
REPORTS TO: Principal or Principal Designee
RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervise up to 35 students per Academic Support Program Session, including:
- Take attendance
- Ensure student time is used productively to receive credit for the session.
- Log student accomplishments for the session as evidence of productivity
- Monitor academic progress throughout the session and provide academic support to ensure student achievement.
- Review yearly attendance with students.
- Coach students on effectively communicating their needs, goals, and challenges to teachers and other staff members.
- Provide support and guidance to students who may be struggling or require additional assistance.
- Assist in collecting student assignments and accessing assignments online.
- Enforce expected Westfield High School behavior as outlined in the WHS Student Handbook.
- Provide quarterly updates to the school administration on the effectiveness of WHS’s Academic Support Program.
- Must be available Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on scheduled Academic Support Program sessions (approximately 2‑3 times per month)
- Part‑time employment – Up to 10.5 hours per month
Stipend – $42.50 per hour
DATES OF EMPLOYMENTSeptember 2025 – June 2026
EVALUATIONPerformance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield Public School evaluation, observations by WHS Administration, and student feedback.
