Summary: Daily activities are coordinated by the Registered Nurse (RN). The PCT will perform a variety of technical tasks and bedside functions. Responsibilities include direct patient care, hygiene, skin care, mobility, monitoring, phlebotomy and EKGs. The PCT is expected to manage equipment and assist in procedures on the unit.

Summary:
Baystate Noble 31‑bed unit provides broad spectrum acuity with telemetry and intermediate care. Modern technology, telemonitoring equipment, and a network of specialists support high quality care.
- Provides age‑appropriate care to patients.
- Demonstrates knowledge of developmental stages for age groups and applies developmental theories and concepts.
- Monitors basic physiological parameters.
- Takes and records routine vital signs.
- Documents weights, heights, abdominal girths, and head circumference (pediatric).
- Administers treatments and procedures per policy.
- Changes dressings within one hour per procedure.
- Provides post‑mortem care per RN guidance.
- Assists physicians with exams and simple procedures, verifying patient identity.
- Assists patients with elimination of body wastes.
- Provides bedpan, urinal, and emesis basin promptly upon request.
- Accurately labels and sends specimens within 30 minutes.
- Records intake and output, administers enemas or drips as ordered.
- Performs point‑of‑care testing.
- Assists with ancillary services per plans.
- Monitors patient condition during treatment, reports emergencies.
- Communicates effectively with team, patients, and families.
- Initiates emergency procedures, maintains patient safety, communicates with personnel.
- Functions as a team member, provides feedback, participates in non‑clinical activities.
- Competencies:
observation, team processes, career ladder level support.
- Preferred: PCT or CNA training.
- Required:
At least one year of patient care experience (varied settings). - High School diploma or GED.
- CNA preferred.
Skills and
Competencies:
Proficient in reading and writing in English. Able to maintain professional composure in high‑stress situations. Effective communication skills.

Certifications: Basic Life Support – American Heart Association;
