We are currently recruiting for the position of Staff Accountant.

The Staff Accountant will support the daily financial operations of Romark Logistics, ensuring timely and accurate accounting across our warehousing and transportation divisions. This role works closely with operations and management teams to analyze results, support decision‑making, and uphold financial integrity in a dynamic 3PL environment.

Key Responsibilities General Accounting
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations for multiple entities and locations.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Review and process invoices, freight bills, and expense reports, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
  • Maintain and reconcile carrier and customer accounts, assisting with collections and payments.
  • Monitor aging reports and proactively communicate with vendors and customers.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Assist with preparation of monthly P&L reports, variance analyses, and cost performance metrics.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes across business units.
  • Partner with warehouse and transportation operations to analyze costs and identify process efficiencies.
Compliance & Audit
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company procedures.
  • Support external audits, bank reviews, and tax filings through the preparation of schedules and documentation.
  • Maintain organized accounting records for all financial activities.
Real Estate
  • Record and track capital expenditures, tenant improvements, and depreciation schedules for real estate assets.
  • Manage accounting for real estate transactions such as acquisitions, dispositions, and lease agreements.
  • Assist with CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, property tax accruals, and rent roll analysis.
Qualifications Educations & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2‑4 years of accounting experience; experience in logistics, transportation, or warehousing industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
  • Integrity and commitment to maintaining financial accuracy and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or working toward CPA certification.
  • Experience with 3PL billing systems, freight audits, or warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Understanding of cost accounting and logistics KPIs (e.g., cost per pallet, cost per mile, revenue per load).
Work Environment
  • Office environment 5 days a week with periodic interaction with warehouse and operations teams.
