Connections Personnel is hiring for a 2-3 seasoned 1040 Tax Professionals for our client located in Westfield, NJ. Looking for candidates who have worked for a CPA firm handling personal tax filing background to join the team in January. Must be able to put in extra hours during the busy season and also nights and weekends as needed.

• Claim eligible deductions and tax credits.
• Calculate their total tax liability for the year.
• Determine if they are due a refund or if they owe additional taxes to the IRS.
• Collecting all necessary financial documents from the taxpayer, such as W-2s, 1099s, and records for deductions or credits.
• Accurately enter income, deductions, and credits onto Form 1040 and any required supplemental schedules (e.g., Schedule A for itemized deductions, Schedule C for business income, Schedule SE for self-employment tax).
• Staying current with changing tax laws and regulations to ensure the return follows all IRS rules.
• Identifying all eligible deductions and credits to help the taxpayer minimize their tax liability or maximize their refund.
• Signing and e-filing the return on the client's behalf and, if authorized, representing the taxpayer in communications with the IRS (such as during an audit).

• Must have 5+ years of experience as a CPA.
• Must have Microsoft Office & Tax Software.
• Must speak English.
• Must be willing to work overtime nights and weekends during tax time.

Schedule:

8/830am-5-530pm Monday thru Friday plus overtime nights and weekends during Tax Season.
