Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 / Annually

Our client, a prominent law firm with offices throughout New York, has an immediate need for an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Westfield.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Admission to practice law in the State of New Jersey.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience.
  • Experience preparing and responding to initial pleadings, motions to dismiss, written fact discovery demands (requests for production, interrogatories, requests for admission), written expert discovery demands, and discovery-related motions and meet-and-confer correspondence.
  • Experience with Daubert and/or Frye motions, and motions for summary judgment.
  • Trial-related court filings experience (motions in limine, requests to charge, verdict sheets, etc.) is a plus.
  • Deposition experience, including taking and defending depositions.
  • Courthouse experience, including presenting oral arguments in motion practice.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a robust caseload.
  • Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York is a plus.
  • Experience in litigations involving businesses, real property, contract disputes, and other civil and commercial litigation.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Flexibility, independence, and effective prioritization skills.
  • Creativity in achieving organizational goals while managing legal risks.
  • Collaborative attitude with effective communication skills.
  • Comfort working with all levels of business professionals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
