What you will do

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Software Architect for our Video Management Software Solutions team based in Fishers, IN, which is near Indianapolis.
You will have the opportunity to lead the design and architecture of cutting‑edge enterprise‑class video management systems, with focus on the Exacq product suite.

Since this is a hybrid position requiring you to be onsite 3 days a week, you must be within commuting distance of our Fishers, IN, office, or be able and willing to relocate.

• Design and maintain a scalable, high‑performance video management software solution that integrates seamlessly with various security technologies including Access Control.
• Review and enhance the architecture and framework design of VMS solutions, ensuring they support large‑scale enterprise‑level deployments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive product innovation and integration across different security platforms including access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance.
• Architect solutions that prioritize interoperability, scalability, and user experience, while maintaining compliance with key industry standards such as CJIS, NIST, and GDPR.
• Leverage the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and computer vision to enhance video analytics and surveillance capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, guiding them through complex problem‑solving scenarios and product development cycles.
• Manage product roadmaps, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality software solutions that align with business goals and customer expectations.
• Develop and enforce best practices for software development, security, and data management, adhering to strict compliance and cybersecurity frameworks.

• Minimum Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in software engineering with a focus on AI‑driven innovations, cloud architecture, and enterprise solutions.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, on‑prem and cloud‑native microservices‑driven architectures.
• Experience video management software platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage large‑scale software development projects.

• Strong expertise in AI, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and NLP technologies.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $161,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.) This role offers acompetitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
