Work Schedule: Standard college hours with some evenings and weekends as needed

Summary

Performs a full range of academic, personal, career, and transfer counseling activities with diverse student populations. These include assisting college students, including College Credit Plus students, in developing academic and career goals; creating educational plans for degree/certificate completion and transfer; identifying strategies and skills for adapting to the educational environment; and providing academic counseling in curriculum areas. Assists with New Student Orientations through individual counseling and presentations.

May provide crisis intervention and teach General Studies courses and workshops as needed.

When teaching credit and non-credit courses:

• Prepares and delivers lectures or activities on various topics to achieve specific outcomes
• Creates course materials such as syllabi, assignments, and handouts
• Evaluates and grades student work
• Maintains attendance and grade records
• Provides coaching to students
• Participates in periodic meetings related to teaching duties and professional development

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Counseling or Social Work
• One year of counseling experience in secondary or post-secondary education
• Licensed or licensed-eligible from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board or a state school counseling certification

• Teaching experience
• Experience in higher education counseling including academic advising, transfer counseling, study skills, career development, personal counseling, employment search, and crisis intervention

This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit position with a set rate of pay: $35.00/hour. Applicants must reside in Ohio and be within commuting distance to respond to onsite work demands.
