Job Description - Multi Modality Tech CT and XRay
Shifts: A variety of shifts are available including full-time, part-time, and PRN (location specific). Ask your recruiter for more details.
Weekend/Holiday rotation required for full and part-time positions.
Will consider new graduates.
Radiology candidates who accept a part-time or full-time position with University Hospitals are eligible for:

A Multi modality Tech provides diagnostic patient care services and related diagnostic procedures in more than one Radiology modality. The Multi modality Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of imaging equipment, and for performing diagnostic examinations using multiple modalities.
Responsibilities- Must be actively and consistently working in more than one modality.
- Consistently follows hospital and department guidelines and standards for patient identification and safety.
- Demonstrates competency in patient and technical imaging skills by producing a variety of radiological exams and procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
- Provides age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics.
- Able to perform all applicable equipment quality control.
- Accurately records all requested database/log records.
- Displays a commitment to hospital mission and values.
- Maintains licensure and continuing education requirements.
- Effectively follows directions to maintain compliance with state and federal agencies.
- Proficient at instructing students and new staff after 1 year of experience.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently.
- Use administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department.
- Provides training, mentorship, and preceptorship to current and new technologists and students within modalities.
- Collaborates effectively with co-workers and staff within the department and throughout the institution.
- Participates in regulatory activities as needed.
- Contributes to the safe, efficient, and successful operations of the department through effective communication.
- Effectively communicates with ordering providers and/or radiologists to properly protocol patient studies.
- Ensures all equipment is functioning and demonstrates ability to initiate service repair process.
- Maintains a responsibility for self-development with support for the learning environment of the hospital and the department of Radiology.
- Assists in preparing and maintaining all applicable equipment Quality Control, database records, and/or logs.
- Assist Team Lead, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
- High School Equivalent / GED (Required).
- Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited 2-year program in a school of Radiologic Technology (Required).
- Must meet education requirement for all applicable modalities (Required).
- 3+ years Experience as multi modality tech I (preferred).
- Must demonstrate effective organizational, written and oral communication skills and knowledge of all various equipment and machines used in each area (Required proficiency).
- Excellent knowledge of modality specific equipment, computers, PACS, EMR and RIS.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.
- Excellent knowledge of imaging and exam protocols.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Required upon hire).
- Certified by the ARRT, NMTCB, or RDMS in at least one modality (Required).
- Eligible for certification testing in second modality (Required).
- Licensed by the state of Ohio (Required).
